Walking Humbly With God

Good morning readers, just a quick message today. I started a new bible study at my church on Monday night and the topic was the Old Testament prophets, more specifically Micah.

The overwhelming theme of the night was walking humbly with God! I couldn’t help but notice how the author put mercy and justice in the same sentence.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

We live in a time where it’s either justice or mercy and so did Micah and yet the Lord requires from us, both.

We can see this as either hard and impossible or we can see it as a challenge, I’m opting for the latter. There are times when nothing more than mercy is required from us as believers but there are also times when justice must prevail. We could choose one or the other, or we could choose to do both every time.

Choose today to walk humbly with your God, seek justice and mercy.

Have a great day!
